The Love-Front

I remember growing up how my mother dreaded thunderstorms. As the electrical tempest approached, my mother would instruct us to shut the windows, unplug all appliances (which included the television), and lite the holy candles for protection.

As flashes of lightning lit up the house, she would instinctively cover her ears for the inevitable sound of thunder. My loving mother would then stoop her head down as the tumultuous sound shook her being. My father on the other-hand was quite amused by the entire matter and would often mimic the sound of thunder – much to my mother's disapproval. Today my siblings and I have drawn from our parental quarks and we hold various views of storms.

It is interesting how people respond differently to a storm. We experience the same storm but hold a myriad of emotions, actions and preconceive ideas. I'm certain that you would agree with me that a storm is not an emotion nor is it an action. The storm is just one event that is experienced in various ways by people. It is a meteorological phenomenon able to summon many feelings. Which leads to the point of topic; love.

Love is not an emotion or an action. It is a state of well-being, a core value. This moral belief is your love-front. It will stir people's feelings, actions, and results. Although the cause (love) is the same from person to person, it will bring-forth an entourage of affections. Our love for everyone should be the same but its entourage of affections and actions will carry many shades. Love is an agreement of faith to honourably commit to the well-being and edification of every person without partiality and without limitations. Is your love-front capable of stirring many?

What is Trichotomy? Intelligence and the Holy Place / Part 6

THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SPIRITUAL

After classifying the human trichotomy in three segments; Instinct, Intelligence, and Intuition - I proceeded in detailing the first segment (instinct) and correlating it to the outer court of the biblical temple.
Today we move on to Intelligence, associating it with the Holy Place of the temple. Intelligence is motivated by the need to reason. It comprises of Intellect: the faculty of reasoning and learning objectively, esp. with regard to abstract or academic matters. Memories resides here - Emotions: is the catalyst to direct or indirect action - Will: is the apparent ability through reasoning to make free choices. It should be noted that there are some that believe that free will is not free at all. They believe that it is a mix of chance and determination. I argue that chance and determination do exist but only as an agent of possible influence. In other words they can have an impact to my choice but I chose to let this happen.
In the example I used two lessons ago, I stated that you had a house nestled in a thick forest. The first year in your new house, you experienced a fire for the first time of your life. In that scenario you didn't have any experiences to draw from so you ventured out to investigate the fire. Your neuro-net lit up as you approach the fire and you instictively reacted and fled to safety. Now in this second scenario, you observe another forest fire but on the north side of your property. This time you will not go out to investigate. You draw from an earlier experience, absorbing the panic you felt, the heat that discomforted you and you make an assessment. You decided to take action. Go to a safer place until the fire passes. You collated past events and applied intelligent reasoning. Your will is what seperates action from reaction. It also collates information from your spiritual (conscience) side. The Intelligence is the crossroad between the physical and the spiritual. It should harbour a healthy balance between both areas.

Love and Emotions: The Cause and Effect / PART TWO

Love is Self-Sacrificial
What is love?
Most people will say that love is an emotional bond between two persons. This definition may be acceptable in our everyday lives but let us be clear, it is far from being accurate. Love is not an emotion. In fact;

1. Love does not grow or intensify through time. It is unconditional and it is to be given freely and abundantly from the very start. It’s not love that grows, it’s the affection;
2. Love does not come in various flavours to suit all your relationships. The love you have for your mate is the same love you have for your friends. Love does not discriminate. Love is the cause that creates an effect. It is the event that stirs up your affections and actions;
3. Love is not a reward you offer but an obligation you fulfill. It easy to love someone when they are kind, sweet, and respectful. But love remains standsfast when someone persecutes and disrespect you. It does not abandon;
4. Love is not about sex but about a moral commitment;
5. Love does not have an expiry date. It is forever;
6. Love is not limited to your selection of friends. Love shines its grace upon everyone;
7. Love is not a chamelion that changes with history. Love remains the same through out time;
8. Love never pauses. It is based on the works of edification. Building up is a perpeptual action;
9. Love never fails!
